Confucius Aesthetics
Confucius Aesthetics is a series of illustrations created to present the aesthetic values of Confucius. The series uses metaphorical imagery to express ideas such as national prosperity, social harmony, equality and love of country. Traditional Chinese auspicious motifs, including bronze ware, jade pendants, the phoenix, auspicious clouds and the elk, are combined to form the outer frame of each illustration. The drawings were made with digital painting software and printed in rich colours. The series aims to support the study and wider sharing of traditional culture.
