Institution Logo

Institution

Caseer Institution is a logo created for the Center for Advanced School Education and Evidence-based Research at the University of Tokyo. The center studies teaching practice, education content and school development policy, and works to solve practical problems in schools. The logo is based on a symbol of expansion. The form refers to the ginkgo leaf, a shared emblem of the University of Tokyo and its affiliated schools. The outward spread of the leaf also stands for the growth of understanding, perspective and curiosity gained through education and research.

Institution Logo by Masayuki Izumi was recognized as an innovative representation of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Institution Logo was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2020. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition which honors outstanding design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
