Cats In The Bag

Cats In The Bag is a series of framed illustrations that show cats resting inside bags. Each artwork depicts a simple scene from daily life with a cat. The series presents long-haired, short-haired and hairless cats, paired with bags of different shapes. The illustrations are painted digitally and then printed on acrylic plates by silk screen. Several printed plates are stacked in a custom frame, with paper and a cutting sheet placed at the back, so the image appears three-dimensional when the viewing angle shifts. Each square piece measures 422 by 422 millimeters.

Dark shades suggest the hidden inner world of a person who does not speak. Layered patterns show how emotions become more complex. The illustrations are shown in galleries, where each drawing can become a tool for conversation.

Clearly, the designer added depth and detailed attention to the geometrical symbols he used across the design. He included a shocker wrapped around the character’s neck, which was also heavy on texture.
